Nigerian writer, Nwuguru Chidiebere Sullivan has been revealed as the winner of the 2024 Rhonda Gail Williford Prize.

Selected from over 424 submissions across 69 countries, Sullivan emerged victorious, flying the African flag high!

Established to honor the remarkable legacy of poet and attorney Rhonda Gail Williford, the award celebrates poetry that embodies Rhonda’s passion for beauty, justice, and the transformative power of language.

Nwuguru Chidiebere Sullivan is a keen writer of Izzi, Abakaliki ancestry; a Medical Laboratory Science student whose works have been nominated for Forward Prize, Pushcart Prize, and Best of The Net Award. He was the winner of 2021, WAN–Cookout Journal Poetry Prize.

He has works published or forthcoming at IS&T, Augur Mag, The Shore Poetry, B’K Mag, The Deadlands, The West Trade Review, Sand Journal, Bracken Mag, No Contact Mag, The Fourth River, and elsewhere.
